Getting back into the swing of things wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. Though I'm still very much in the jotting down of ideas phase of my campaign the ideas just seem to be flowing well.
Last time I was talking about the genre of the campaign, along with the ideas I have for the main villain, and a few of the factions in the campaign, this time I'm going to be getting into more of the meat of things as I'm starting to pen the first adventure.
Starting the first adventure off I am thinking of using a hook that strays away from the normal " while sitting at the tavern...". Not that I don't like that hook or that introduction to an adventure , I just find myself wanting to over-use it or I end up make it my go to introduction. So I really wanted to break that habit and try out something different while still getting the players interest in going on this adventure and making sure to sets the tone for the campaign. Right now I am leaning towards this : "as you walk along the well trodden dirt path, you see a body of a neatly dressed man laying with it's face in the ground. One of the man's arms lays sprawled over his head and his fist firmly grasping something. " I will be elaorating much more on this as I write my adventure , but I'm liking this as the introduction, as it adds a level of mystery at the start and may have players curious as to who this guy is and what happened to him and what is he holding? As well as fitting the tone for this campaign by starting off with a murder.
Also since my last update I am fleshing out the list of NPC and the villan the players will encounter in their first adventure. I am really finding World Anvil to be an excellent tool to keep track of these characters as I start to create them. Not only does the site keep them all in one place for me , but it makes editing them easy, while making the character creation process as indepth as you want to get, the template offers room for a ton of little details that can really add to your characters. I really highly recommend World Anvil to any other creator out there as it truly has been a extremely useful for me.
Finally, I am starting to sketch out the ideas for the very first dungeon players will go through. I dont want to go into much more about it (as I do want to keep somethings as a suprise) but I am looking forward to adding a few puzzles in here. As I really want to give players not only physical challenges to overcome but little mental ones as well. Plus adds a little bit of tension to.a suspenseful situation too .
Thank you guys for reading , I also wanted to take the time to say embrace your creative side any way you can, be it writing or art , you will find it is truly an amazing outlet one that I enjoy very much!

Happy New Year, A Quick Update
Sorry it's been a bit since my last update , but some personal family matters happened at the end of last year/start of the new year, that I kind of took a bit of a leave from everything. However, now that I'm in a better place (and feel that creative energy flowing) I feel ready to resume my work on the campaign, along with updating my blog/journal here. I hope all of you had a wonderful New Year and look forward to sharing my works with all of you in the New Year.
Thanks For Reading,
Rich

Update 12-21-2017
The past few days after pulling the trigger on writing my campaign has been filled with a lot of brainstorming. I'm filling up my notebooks with a bunch of chicken scratch as I feverishly jot down Ideas and concepts.
To start there are some aspects that I already had in mind for the campaign, such as my central villian and the genre. For right now I will skip over the villian saving that topic for later on down the road. However, the genre of the campaign will be that of dark fantasy. Dark Fantasy has always been one of the genres that I have wanted to write, much like fantasy the genre speaks to me. Adventures like Curse of Strahd or Ravenloft were games I enjoyed playing as well as the in game atmosphere they set up. So to write adventures in that frame has me excited !
I have also started to create a few of the factions that will be filling my world. These factions are still in their early stages. So far there will be 3 main faction groups : 1 that is more heroic , 1 that works against the more heroic group, and 1 that is almost like a mercenary group. The players will be able to join any of these factions. They can even be a members of two factions that has opposing goals at the same time making for some interesting roleplay opportunities (think spy or someone who wants to work against the goals of the faction from the inside).
So I think I will wrap it up here. I have a lot more ideas that I wrote down, but they are still pretty much just that ideas. I will look forward to sharing those ideasband concepts with all of you once they start to take shape. Thank you guys for reading and thank you guys for supporting me!

Welcome
First off , I want to thank everyone who stops by and takes the time to read this. It may not seem like a big deal, but its the supportive people like yourself that have me really excited to share my works.
Today on Twitter I saw a tweet asking if you had the time and money what would you create ? The first thing that came to my mind was the campaign I have always wanted to write for my tabletop group.
After sitting on it for a bit I got to thinking : Why don't I just write it? even if it is only in my spare time. I know we all start things with best intentions, but we often get side tracked or we just put those side projects off with the promise we will come back to it. However, this time I want it to make it more than just a promise, I actually want to make it happen. I guess you could call this my new years resolution.
I have always wanted to write , and more specifically always wanted to write RPG adventures. RPG games have always been an escape into a fantasy world for me, as well as an outlet for my creative thoughts , and stories. This seems like a great way to do just that , even if it's just sharing this campaign (and maybe a few adventures) with just a handful of awesome people whom I hope enjoy it as much as I did creating it.
I plan on using this site to share my updates on the campaign (sort of a diary of you will) with all of you. Feel free to share your comments as well , just because it sounds good in my head doesn't mean that it actually works for the story. I sincerely welcome you all on this journey with me and look forward to not only just sharing with you but hearing from you as well.
